Ancient Greece: Olympia, Delphi and Meteora
Experience the wonder of mainland Greece by exploring several of its historic sites and natural beauty. This private escorted tour begins with two nights in Athens to fight off jet lag and prepare for the journey ahead. The vacation starts along the scenic Corinth Canal with an engineering history that dates back to 602 B.C. Later, it’s onto the mighty Palamidi Fortress that overlooks the seaside resort and old town of Nafpolin, where guests will stay for the evening. The next afternoon begins with the city of Atreides or the city "rich in gold." Here, travelers will explore the Lion’s Gate, Cyclopean Walls and the Royal Tombs. Then, it’s onto Olympia for the evening, home of the Olympic Games. The following day, guests will stop by the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos and Itea on their way to Delphi for the evening. In Delphi, travelers will visit the Treasury of the Athenians and Delphi museum before heading to Kalambaka for the night. In the morning, the breathtaking views of the Meteora monasteries await. Once explored, a visit to the memorial of Leonidas and the 300 Spartans will be made before returning to Athens.
